Linksys Wireless - G Range Expander...please help?
Okay, I bought Linksys' Wireless - G range expander and (I am completely computer illiterate) I don't know if I have to put it by the router and then do the rest from my room or if I keep the range expander next to my laptop.
Also, I have a Belkin router... Will it still work with Linksys?
Garlic Breath - because I'm an idiot.
And on the Linksys help forum it said:
" * Yes, you can choose from 3 different modes. These are: “Mixed”, “G-only”, and “B-only”. Choose “Mixed” for a network that consists of 802.11b and 802.11g-compliant devices. Choose “G-only” if wireless clients and access points that are making use of the Range Expander are comprised of all 802.11g-compliant devices. Choose “B-only” if wireless clients and access points that are using the Range Expander are all 802.11b devices. "
My Belkin router says "Belkin Wireless G
2.4 Ghz-802.11g"
How do I modify it?
You might want to return the product. Unless they have modified it in the last year, It will not work with encrypted sugnals. You do not want an unsecure wireless network. If you need to expand your range get a signal booting antenna.
