I have a whirlpool Heavy Duty/Super Capacity gas dryer that just quit working?
when the start button is pushed you can feel the button buzzing inside like it's locked up but the barrel turns free as always...could this be a Thermal Fuse would it make that locked up noise and vibration or is maybe the moter froze?
must have been some sort of overload cooled down and works fine 5 hours later...
if the drum is turning freely the motor probably isnt locked up that doesnt mean its not bad tho. are you sure your timer is working correctly? altho that wouldnt account for the buzz with out taking it apart and checking id say your motor fried when motors go bad they dont necessarily lock up. get a new motor. if you know what your doing do a amp check on the motor be careful if you have ANY doubts of your ability to work with elec call a service man in.
