Freezer is running too much...advice?!?
I have a Whirlpool 7.3 cu ft. Chest Freezer. It was about 9 mths old when I got it from my aunt. I plugged it up, let it get cold, and it is about 3/4 of the way full. Ever since I got it, my electric bill has jumped up about $25-$30 extra each month. I have done nothing different in my use of electricity...except for putting the freezer in.
I looked at the manual and it said it is to use about 294 kwt per year. That averages at about $3-4 per month, not $30!!! Any advice on how to check and see if something is wrong with the freezer...it is constantly running and won't kick off. Any advice, suggestions?? PLZ!!
Oh, and it is turned down on 2 1/2, so it is not on high!!!
Your Thermostat inside of your freezer may be messed up. see if you can get someone to try to replace the thermostat. I bought a New refrigerator about 9 months ago and it didn't keep anything cold and the thermostat was a dud. but it was under warranty so they replaced it for free. see if it is still under some kind of warranty or something.
