attaching anti vibration pads to Washing Machine Feet when washing machine is already fitted under worktop?
I want to attach anti vibration pads to washing machine when washing machine already fitted in kitchen.
washing machine is under the worktop, so can't easily get to back feet, any tips on fitting rubber feet? well not rubber feet but little rubber pads.
am i going to have to get someone in to disconnect washing machine or can it be lifted up?? will it affect the pipes at the back if it is lifted????
I
want to get 4 rubber pads to go under washing machine feet as machine is noisy and i'm in 2nd floor flat.
any ideas appreciated, thankyou!
Don't try to lift the machine or disconnect it, just leave it as it is. Instead, remove the plinth from your kitchen units, take a few short lengths of timber and pack them tight underneath the machine. With the timber taking the weight, you can then reach under and screw the feet upwards a few millimetres - enough to slide in your rubber pads. Then retighten the feet and remove the timber.
You can also do this with a single length of timber by using it as a lever to lift the front feet first and then, using a small block as a pivot, to lift the rear feet. You will need to have someone do this with you.
Remember, washing machines won't vibrate as much if you manage to get them perfectly level, so use a spirit level to check the level of the machine as you tighten the feet.
