engine oil is inside inlet manifold?

Hi i have a y reg 2001 vectra 2.2 sri, it was burning and using alot of oil so i stripped engine down as i suspected head gasket or valve stem seals ( rings are ok as compression etc was bang on) i removed the inlet manifold and inside is caked in oil ( never seen this before) i took head off all valves and seals are fine head gasket seemed ok no oil at all in cylinders all clean and tidy just the oil in the inlet manifold. I havent got a clue other then i no rings and stem valve seals are ok n rocker cover and head gasket were fine any idea?
yes compression test was ok all showed to be fine with pressure being exactly what it should be and being exactly the same on each cylinder. so aint got a clue

sounds like you have a blocked engine breather
