I burnt my finger: WHAT DO I DO?
I wasn't paying much attention (since I was texting) ...however, I ended up taking something out of the oven with no mits on after it was in there for 45 minutes on 400!
Now I have a burn on my thumb and finger (from where I touched the pan)....
I didn't exactly put anything on it.. It's been 15 minutes since it happened.
What do I do? It hurts like crazy!
It's blistering and looks like a red line with a fluid in it? (sorry, too much information!)
Yes! I own one of those aloe vera plants!
I know this sounds weird, but if you have some mustard, smear that on the burn. It will relieve the pain. When your skin is exposed to heat, the pores open up, but because the heat is so extreme and shocking (like when you burn yourself) the pores close up instantly, leaving the heat trapped under the skin and that's why it really hurts. The acid in the mustard opens the pores up and releases that heat, thus alleviating the pain. After you put mustard on the burn (and leave it there for a while) then treat it as you would regularly treat a burn - with aloe and ice. I've tried this trick many times and it's a miracle the good that it does. Hope this helps.
