Please help! How can you find the 'data range box' in microsoft office excel 2007?
I'm trying to make a spreadsheet for a class on microsoft office excel 2007.. The goal is to plot points on a graph from selected cells with numbers in them (the table of values) that's been set up. When you highlight the table of values and then click on insert, chart... and then insert the type of specified chart (in this case a scatter plot), when you click 'next'... a 'data range box' is supposed to appear and tell you which cells your data is taken from. (The problem is that I don't have 'next', I just have a button that says 'okay'.) Also, after you click next, something that says 'columns' is supposed to be selected. A series tab will show you which values from the table are x values and which are y values.
... I think the instructions are for an older/newer version of excel... I can't find what I'm supposed to do.
Click on your chart and the Chart Tools menu appears on the ribbon at the top of the screen. In the Chart Tools menu go to Design > Select Data. The Chart data range box is the one at the top. Experiment with the Legend Entries and Horizontal (Category) Axis Labels to see how you can easily change the source data for your graph by adding, removing, or editing series.
Hope this helps...
