Getting out of an apartment lease...HOW?
I have a couple of issues here...mainly my safety! I am dodging bullets, have been robbed x2, my car has been vandalized.
I WANT OUT! I really can't take it. So, my fiance is purchasing a home for us but my lease is not up until May 2007. WHAT CAN I DO??? The place is great ON THE INSIDE (stainless steel professional appliances, hardwood floors, great paint job and HUGE closets) but I did not know until a month into it that the neighborhood was straight up "HOOD". I am from the South Side of Chicago but I have never experienced anything like this ... EVER!

That's the Illinois Tenant's Union. I called these guys about breaking my lease which doesn't end till June 2007 so I can move in with my honey. The guys above can help legally break your lease and they charge a fee on a sliding scale for the service. The lowest fee amount is $300.... But if you talk openly with your landlord, he or she should be able to work something out. Good luck!
