how to cool down a room without a/c?
im a dog groomer, and it has been 40 degrees (aprox. 104 fahrenheit) outside these past few days. now i have an Air Conditioner but of course it chooses the hottest days of the summer to stop working. i have all of my windows blacked out, all the lights are ALWAYS off, the celling fan is always circulating, and i have the Portable Air conditioner turned on, but like i said it is not working properly. within a few minutes i am literally dripping with sweat.
now i unfortunately have to work for 5 + hours a day in these conditions, with big dryers, electric clippers etc. making it hotter.
does anyone have any suggestions to help me cool down / keep the shop cooler until i get my a/c fixed / the weather cools down?

Go buy some Reflectix from a hardware store (home depot and lowes has it). Cut it down to the size of your windows and use it to cover your windows. Reflectix reflects 97% of radiant heat, and should work much better than simple blinds. Keep the windows closed during the day, and open during the night, in order to conserve the cool air (unless it is cooler outside than in).
Get a fan, and place a wet towel or bowl of ice water in front of it. This also works to cool the room.
Soak a tshirt in water, ring it about a little bit, then wear it. That works wonders.
