Maytag Gas Range # MGR5710- TOO LONG FOR THE OVEN GAS COMES ON?
When i trun on the oven, the igniter comes on at once, but the gas will not comming out for more than 30+ min.
If i open the Oven Door, than, the gas will come out and flame will be on within 2 min. After the flame is on, than close the oven door, the oven will work as normal. Please identify the problem. Thanks.
Do this easy test. Turn on the oven and look at the ignitor. It should be as bright as the sun. So bright you cannot look at it. If it is a mellow orange color and not very bright then it is weak and bad. You can open the door or kick the side of the stove and the valve will open. The reason is quite simple. The ignitor has to draw 3.5 amps to open the bi-metal inside the Safety Valve. When it is weak it takes longer and has to be helped. Replace the ignitor and your problems are over.
