could be lots of things. i'd start with the Lid Switch. if you have a habit of dropping the lid down after you're finished it's about a sure bet you're going to mess the lid switch up. they are fairly easy to replace. you'll know where it is. when you lift the lid, there's a button there or rectangular shaped thing where the lid meets the washer top panel. you can test the switch for continuity. no continuity, replace switch. but as i said in the beginning, could be more to it.
