SToveTop Beeping f-1-8?
My Maytag Gemini Smooth Top double Oven Range is beeping with Error F-1-8 and saying call technician. I checked the manual and it says F-1-8 means "Shorted KeyPAD". It was beeping every 2 minutes so i freaked out and disconnected the power of the range. CAlled the HomeInsurance company which said technician will Call Monday to schedule an appointment while i am getting sick of eating out for three days. Is it safe to connect the power back and start cooking even with the range beeping every 2 minutes? Thankyou
Try heating the key pad with a hair blower. Sometimes it will "unstick" a keypad. Problem may be getting it to do it again for the service man. No danger in using the range.
