Why does front-loading washer shred microfiber clothing? We used HE detergent, could this be the problem?
We actually used the rest of our regular detergent before using the HE detergent....no clothes were shredded. The particular clothing lost were two pair of microfiber Jockey underwear...on two separate occasions.
I'd be less concerned with chemistry than physics.Carefully run your hands over the agitator and all plastic parts of the machine, you are looking for burrs or sharp edges on these parts.Microfibers are more sensitive to abrasion than cottons or other heavier fabrics.
