what is wrong with my lucky bean plant??

I bought 2 at walmart this last august and changed the dirt to Miracle grow's moisture mix and have them in a W facing window seat. I live in the northwest, so the weather has not been real sunny. We have forced air heat, but I have closed the vent nearest them to keep the warm air from drying them out. I let them go without watering them, probably for too long. The leaves are cracking and some are turning yellow and wrinkling and dying. There is also some promised new growth too though? Is this a normal winter process and will they renew growth in the spring?

Our indoor temperature is about 65-70

Beans are warm weather plants and prefer the outdoors, they should perk up in the spring.
