Whirlpool Gas Oven not working?
I have a 2 year old Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 gas oven that is acting up. Everything is working except for the "bake" mode. When I press the bake button, the broiler ignitor starts to click, but gas is being released down below. I called a service guy, but he said it's $75 just to walk in my door. So hopefully this is something that I can take care of. Thanks in advance.
useing a match on an extension, or a long fireplace lighter, try lighting the oven while the ignitor is clicking. if it lights and works normally, then no gas is getting to the spark ignitor. there are small holes that shoot gas directly toward the ignitor, and these could be stopped up. if this seems to be the broblem, you may be able to clean the holes yourself and return the oven to operation.
