remote tempature sensing air conditioner?
i bought a frigidaire air conditioner today and the remote has a feature called remote sensing. when the remote sensing button is pressed the remote lets the AC unit know the temperature of the room (or wherever the remote actually is) however, i do not notice any change in the air conditioner (dont know if im supposed to), and i can not find any information in the instructions as to why it reports the temperature back to the AC. does anybody know if it does change anything or what its purpose is? thanks 
It simply tells the AC unit what the temperature is wherever the remote lays. The unit will run to satisfy the setpoint that is programmed. If the remote is too far away, or is in a warm spot, the AC will run longer and cooler than you may want it to. But, if the remote is placed at a good location in the room, it will allow the AC unit to provide a good temperature throughout the space, rather than just cooling down until it's own thermostat is satisfied. In my opinion, it is sort of a non-necessary gimmick. If the temperature is set lower at the unit, it will accomplish the same result.
