Frigidaire Oven: Bake setting doesn't work, but broil works.?
Frigidaire Electric Oven (10 years old, model - FEF316WGSE) the bake setting quit working this evening, but the broil setting and top Ranges still work. The thermostat still clicks when the knob is turned on, but the Bake Element does not glow or get hot. What else could cause the problem besides the thermostat or the heating element going bad? What is the best way to figure out what needs to be replaced? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
There's about a 95% chance it's the element, switch far less likely. I know that any of the supply houses that I use in the course of business, are usually more than happy to ohm test the element for the customer. Just check your local yellow pages for Appliance Parts.
If you have access to a multi-meter, someone can walk you thru testing it.
It should be the lower element btw.
