My refrigerator stopped cooling?
A couple of days ago I noticed my refrigerator wasn't as cold as it usually is. So I turned the thermostat up to a cooler setting. Everything else seemed fine. A few hours ago, I opened the Freezer Door and water spilled out. All the ice had melted and the food on the top shelves had begun to thaw. I pulled the refrigerator out from the wall to look at the back and the freezer started making a noise. It sounds like a fan hitting something as it turns. What is the problem and how do I fix it?

The refrigerator isn't that old, I bought it brand new in July of 2007. It's a Frigidaire.

I just found the receipt and I bought a three year service plan with it. Will the place I bought it from fix it and if so will they charge me anything?
Check the Fan Motor for something stuck in it, like plastic peanuts or a lot of dust. This same thing happened to my side-by-side Fridge a couple years ago, and when I pulled it from the wall, there were several plastic packing peanuts jammed in the fan blades. There was a slight hot burning motor smell, my fridge and freezer weren't cooling, and I could hear the motor straining.
If I hadn't caught it in time, the motor would have burned out and I would have had to pay for a new motor.
If you're still under warranty and pulling debris out of the fan blades didn't fix the problem, then use your warranty, by all means. Usually there's no charge under the terms of the warranty, but I'd read it carefully to be sure. Good luck!
