my builder routed the dryer vent about 20' up through the roof. is there any way to vent it into the garage without getting lint all over the place?
Venting your dryer into the garage is a violation of building code and will reduce the value of the house. If you vent your dryer into the garage it will raise the humidity substantially which will find its way into your home, as there generally isn't a vapor barrier between the garage and the house. Mold and a garage where everything rusts should not be on the to do list.
Instead, if necessary, bring the vent through the garage to the exterior or over to a soffit if you don't want it through the roof.
