Okay, well everything was going fine an hour ago.
I saw lots of dust coming out of my computer, so I decided to finish defragging and cleaning it so I could clean out the dust.
I started off by unplugging the Keyboard, Mouse, USB, LAN, then Display cables. From there, I switched off the power button on the extension cord thingy. Then I unplugged the Power Cord on my computer. I had some Static Guard laying around so i sprayed some areas around me, but not my computer. I took Qtips and dry napkins and went on with the dusting. I completed dusting it, and accidentally unplugged my hard drive cable, but immediately plugged it back in. From there I plugged all the cords back in, turned on the power, and to my dismay... My screen had an error. It showed the Windows XP booting screen for a while, but then it restarted. I've tried 5 times to restart my computer, but it keeps saying to Insert Boot Media, etc; Any help?

Go into the BIOS and check if your hard drive is detected; if it's not, then it's probably just a loose connection. If you're getting an error saying to insert boot media, then you should always double check all your hard drive connections. Couldn't hurt to run Memtest86 if you're concerned you zapped yo' RAM, but it's more than likely the drive.

FYI, touching the exposed screw on a Light Switch or a power outlet is sufficient to ground you before working on a PC; no need to spray or wear anything special, especially if you're working on carpet in spring/summer when the moisture from your feet alone discharges static.
