How can I keep my basement dry (dehumidifier) but also air it out to prevent a build up of radon?

Continuation of my previous home repair question.

My basement is not wet... but in the corners we do get water sometimes if it rains too hard. There is a system in place that manages this 85% of the time. In combination, we installed a high grade dehumidifier with a pump that sends the water down our drains (like a Washing Machine.) Since installing this, it is bone dry down there.

But then we tested for radon and it was very high (7.) So they say to air everything out leaving windows open or installing a system. Now if I leave the windows open, doesn't that really kill my attempt to keep the basement dry and render my dehumidifier unecessary?

Yes, it does. Installing a mitigation system for the radon is critical to reduce your exposure to it without compromising the current water-proofing system you have installed. Moisture control, of course, if very important in reducing your exposure to microbiological pollutants, insects and other parasites and allergens. I would talk to a water-proofing specialist and a radon mitigation specialist to get this balanced ASAP.
