How can I check door switch on an inglis Washer? The top of the washer seems to be screwed from the inside.?
This is a Top Loading, super format model. The machine stops in mid-cycle sometimes. When I open the lid and shut it softly - nothing. When I let it fall shut it starts to run. ?? door switch ?? timer. I tried to pop the top of the washer open to check the door switch, but it seems to be screwed shut from the inside. Unless the newer inglis models have a trick to opening the top, it looks like it is not easy to open it up.

You have a bad switch or a switch that needs adjusting. The top is not screwed down from the inside. Take a look at the front of the washer where the top sits on the machine there will be a small crack between the top and the body of the washer, about two inchs from each side on the front there will be two locking clips that hold the top on, you cant see these clips but if you take a small screw driver or a butter knife you can slide it in between the top and body and push against these clips to release them and flip the top back out of the way
