What should I do? I washed my baking pans in the dishwasher too many times and now they're rusty?
I guess I shouldn't have kept washing them in the dishwasher, because now all three of my baking pans are covered with rust?
Can I still use them? Maybe if i line them with tin foil?
They are the rectangular gray 2 inch deep metal pans - nothing fancy.
I have two pans that have done the same thing...and I don't have a dishwasher. It has nothing to do with whether they cost a lot or not. I wipe them down with a little vegetable oil (it takes off the rust too) and them wipe that off with paper towels. For cakes, I would line them with foil or parchment paper, but anything else I cook straight in the pan. It IS clean, just prone to rust after washing.
