Making Kebab, does a stove-top cast iron grill work well?
I'm thinking about making beef kebab tonight. I don't have a charcoal barbeque grill, but I have a stove-top cast iron grill( those reverse kind of grill/griddle) fitting on two stove burners.
Is this an okay substitute for a real grill? Will the kebab not come out as good as one made from a barbeque grill? If the quality will be below par, do you know how close does it make similiar to the one made on a barbeque gril?
How about I just broil in an oven? Will that work?
With either situation, you won't get the same taste exactly, but you'll come close. If you use the grill pan, you get the grill marks and the fat will drain off. You won't get this result with the broiler, using the broiler will only give you very high, direct heat which is not necessarily what you want. I would go with the grill pan. Hope this helps.
